Kate in the studio. |
Hello Kate, how are you?
Hello! I am very well thank you very excited to get stuck into the world of work.
What are you up to at the moment?
At the moment I am very excited and privileged to be collaborating with the White Room Bridal Boutique in Sheffield offering a bespoke bridesmaid service. Also very pleased to be designing my website which will hopefully be up and running at the end of the year.
Tell me about work?
My pattern has changed; I am now able to work at a different pace having lost the pressures of university I am able to concentrate in areas that I would like to advance my career in.
Who are your style icons?
As a designer I look at Burberry as a brand icon I find their overall ethics and designs inspiring.
As for people style icons I love eras especially the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s
Tell me about your own style?
My style all depends on what kind of mood I am in when I wake up I like mixing it up one day I could be wearing a rock look then the next very preppy.
Where do you shop in Sheffield? Are there any particular boutiques you shop form?
I love all the regular high street shops like Topshop and H&M but I also like vintage finds.
What’s your fashion secret weapon?
My passion.
What’s your biggest fashion ‘don’t’?
Don’t wear anything you’re not comfortable in.
Can you describe your day-to-day beauty regime?
Moisturise is the number one rule, then tone and cleanse very important to do this day and night. I am a massive fan of Lancôme’s Genifique serum I put this on after moisturising and it leaves your face so fresh, a definite investment.
Do you have any favourite jewellery?
I love statement pieces, anything unusual. I bought a few necklaces back from Gibraltar last summer and I get so many compliments on how unusual there are. Also rings are always part of my outfit.
Kate's winning Russian themed dress. |
Where is your dress that you designed for the Bridal Buyer’s Award? And what will happen to it?
It is hung in my mum’s office and she is on a permanent diet to get into it!
Are you still interested to create designs in a Russian theme?
Yes there is something about Russia that has me fascinated. I am hoping when I get my website up and running my Designs and my T-34 collection will be available to purchase along with a few new creations.
What are your high street secrets?
I love teaming high street items with one single item that has probably blown my budget.
And lastly, what will you be up to in five years time?
I’m hoping the next 5 years will confirm my commitment as a top designer! I would like for you to come back and interview me then.
