Festive knitwear

Reindeer, snowman and santa jumpers have made a come back this year! It seems the more cheesy the better, the vintage and retro inspired designs have hit the high street stores for men and women. Are cosy knitted Christmas jumpers a hit or a miss? Tell me what you think!

Christmas sparklers

The party season has finally arrived! And I have found some Christmassy dresses to give you the vajazzle look. First up is this black glitter dress from River Island at only £30. The beauty of this dress is that it is reversible and is easy to team up with a black clutch and stilettos.

Secondly, I have found this gorgeously fitted little number from Monsoon's range, Fusion for £75. It has a slight V-neck at the back with added sequin detail around the front. It hugs you nicely in all the right places and again, is easy to dress. Ideal for Christmas works party.

And last but not lease, I recommend this Lipsy sparkler, it is tight fitting and covered in black sequins with love heart black mesh around the chest. This dress also has a large silver zip down the back giving you that extra detail. You could wear it with simple silver bracelets or earring and a black or silver pair of shoes.

Polish it up

It is the season to be immaculate, including your nails. I’ve had a search in the shops for the Christmassy colours and winter statements that aren’t just for summer.

I’ve discovered long-lasting, chip-free polishes that will satisfy your needs and leave you feeling ready for the busy season ahead with perfect manicures and pedicures.

One of my favourites is OPI nail lacquer; it is called “Bring on the bling”. It gives you the Hollywood glitter ready to sparkle for Christmas and the New Year. Like most polishes, it does require two coats but because of the thickness it can last until you up to two weeks. The only downside is that it is a nightmare to take off; the glitter goes everywhere and it takes a few minutes to soak off. 

This China Glaze “Pom Pom” is similar, it gives you gorgeous pink nails but it is difficult to remove. I like this colour because it isn’t a neon pink so you can get away with wearing it in the winter. 

If you’re after a more subtle look this Ciate paint pot is the perfect solution. A creamy pot of “My fair lady” gives you a neutral colour that blends and matches with any outfit, it looks charming on finger nails for a fresh look.

Or you could try Nails Inc “Jermyn street” beige/taupe colour for a darker neutral shade.

If you’re daring enough to wear dark colours take a look at Dior’s new winter collection of nail varnishes and make-up. I got this dark navy shade called “Poison blue”, they are pricey at £16.50 but the colours are long-wearing and gives you a brilliant extreme colour that no other polish can do.

Calling all vintage fans...

If you’re stuck for something to do this weekend you’re in luck, Judy’s Vintage Fair takes place this Saturday from 11am to 5pm.

Judy’s Vintage Fair was established in 2005 and is the largest of its kind offering shoppers up to 75% less than the high street prices. 

The fair will include stalls offering unique vintage clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery and a vintage tea party for a pick-me-up when wandering the stalls; treat yourself to a slice of cake and a cuppa.

Mulberry is currently the talk of the town, it’s everywhere. I treated myself to a Mulberry Daria French purse, a clutch bag and an Alexa oak soft buffalo satchel.
